Good morning everybody, on this sunny but otherwise still sad and shaky day! [livejournal.com profile] gracerene tagged me for this meme (thanks dear!) and although I've put more time in this than I'd bother to tell you, it was actually quite fun to do. (While listening to this Spice Girls/ British politics mashup because, yeah.)

01) Name: cabinetcaligari

02) Animal: Ibis

03) Girl's name: Sadie

04) Color: English red (I know, I know, but I wanted to let the English know I am thinking about them, and second, I needed a colour ending with a ‘d’ because…)

05) Movie: Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari (oh yes)

06) Something you wear: Inverness cape (okay, because I wanted to answer my own username so badly in the question above, I made it quite hard on myself by sort of doing this list backwards and searching for a clothing item with an 'i'. Did you know there aren't really any? However, during a Google search I did find several comment forums dedicated entirely to 'help I need a clothing item with an i', so that was an odd but soothing finding. Plus, look at this bad-ass cape, perfect for channeling your inner Sherlock when it’s raining cats and dogs. The only other clothing thing with an 'i' mentioned was 'insoles' but come on, what would you rather wear?)

07) Drink: Espresso <3

08) Food: Orechiette (ear-shaped pasta to have before your espresso)

09) Item in the bathroom: Eyeliner

10) Place: Ratagan <3 (although my pictures didn’t look that pretty, but I also had a lousy camera)

11) Reason to be late: National Rail Enquiries gave up

Tagging: [livejournal.com profile] shiftylinguini (oh yes dear), [livejournal.com profile] anemonen (for when you're back!), [livejournal.com profile] firethesound (because didn't you love memes? Also dicks. And knitting (link maaaaaybe NSFW)).

I've been curious of where your username came from, because I always thought it sounded so fun. IDK, I like cabinets, you know? ^^

Hahaha, now you know! I like it very much too - both because it reminds me of the movie, and I also like cabinets :) And Caligari's, because it shortens to Cali and I like that too. When I took this name I wondered how many people would recognize it, but there aren't many (or everyone recognizes it and moves on without telling me :( ). My usual user pic is a still from the movie, but I thought it time for something new these days (although I'm missing it a bit already...)

I've used this same username for ages. Literally ages, I've been capitu for over 10 years, and only recently people started calling me 'capi' and I so, so love it. :D Cabi & capi, we totally have a nice ring going on! <3

I've also used the same userpic all this time. I guess we like consistency? ^^

/random. *lol*

Hahaha omg Cabi, I didn't even think of that! I always thought of Cali, but I was afraid that would be too much like Capi indeed (and since you're the original Ca...i, I should maybe get another abbreviation). But capi has such a nice ring to it too, I love it :) What is a capitu actually, now we're on this topic anyway?

We're like, the unbeatable Ca! We could be beaters in a Quidditch team. They'd call us Calcium. ;)

Capitu... actually, capitu is a character from a very famous Brazilian novel. She had this very obsessive husband who was sure she was cheating on him (though we, the readers, never truly find out if she does, it's up to us to decide).

But, while I love the book and the character, it wasn't until much later when a Brazilian telenovela aired here in Bolivia that i heard of it again. In that novela there was this girl named after that book character, and it was that character that I fell in love with. She was a single mum, with a very conflicted family life, adored her dad and to maintain them she was a high-class escort. Yep, that's the character I got my name from, a character named after another character. lol

Hahaha I love it! Especially how the reader never finds out, I ADORE stories with an open ending, with unreliable narrators, since they make me chew on it for days, trying to puzzle a sort of truth together (even though the book doesn't hold one). And the character sounds really cool, like quite a strong personality :)

Edit: and omg, we definitely should be Beaters! Calcium because we have such strong teeth, we just chew our opponents to shivering crumbles? Or maybe because we only have to show them our teeth to have them flying away and never return...

Or, or, the Calvary of Cannibals? Caramel Cannonballs (because we look all sweet, but actually are rock-hard and very lethal)?

Oh! Caramel Calvary! Absolutely! Please say that's us. Wait, I don't know if that makes sense in English, maybe the other day, Calvary Caramel? :D

OMG the Caramel Calvary! That's us!

I think we also need a logo, and a quest, like world domination. And more bottom!Harry.

That's a good a reason as any for wearing a piece of clothing. :) I spent a bunch of money I didn't have on a black raincoat simply because it made me look like a bad-ass spy when worn with my black boots and a black turtleneck.

Hahaha amazing. I always have that when I watched a movie or read a book with awesome characters. I bought a lot of pencil skirts, tight dresses and high heels after watching House of Cards hahaha, and a few fifties Mad Men dresses before that. You sound super bad-ass though, do you still wear the raincoat?

Ha! I am so far from bad ass that bad ass doesn't even know my name! ;)

I bought it last year though so I still have it. I love it, it's all shiny silver buttons and zippers. I'm too old to be punk but I still try.

God bless being able to wear heels and skirts! I'm so clumsy on heels and way too much of a tomboy for pencil skirts. I'm now picturing you as a perfect 50's office girl. :)

I have my moments! Sometimes I'm trying to radiate 'don't touch me' Claire Underwood though, although I don't nearly have her jawline or dangerously cold eyes :(

And yeah, maybe you're not really badass, but could children in the neighbourhood tell the difference when you ponce around the place in your coat? I'm imagining punk meets The Matrix (or Snape with spikes), and that does seem pretty intimidating to me...

Aaaaah the dicks!! XD XD XD Oh how well you know me!!

I love all of your commentary with the answers... and it was educational! I had seen Inverness capes before, because of course Sherlock, but I had no idea what they were actually called. And now I know!

Lol, I actually just now realized how much I missed giggling over crocheted cocks (knitted knobs? Trouser snakes on a tapestry?), and then sending that very picture overseas, knowing there's someone there just as immature as I am, probably sniggering just as much :D
